Quality and Safety
Coal handling and transport require discipline. We support practical quality alignment based on agreed parameters and encourage safety-first coordination during loading, transit, and unloading.
Quality alignment focus
Quality issues usually come from unclear expectations. We reduce disputes by aligning the basics early.
- Grade and specification alignment before dispatch
- Clear documentation and invoice consistency
- Basic reporting coordination where applicable
- Issue escalation steps if quality concerns arise
Safety-first coordination
Safety is not optional. We encourage safe practices and clear transporter instructions.
- Dust control awareness for loading/unloading
- Fire safety awareness for storage and handling
- Safe vehicle movement and site entry coordination
- Clear unloading instructions and hazard communication
Documentation discipline
Many delays are caused by missing or mismatched documentation. We prioritize clarity.
- Billing detail verification (as provided by parties)
- Transport documentation coordination
- Dispatch instructions confirmation
- Consistent recordkeeping to reduce rework
Quality alignment, what it means
"Quality alignment" means we coordinate clear expectations and documentation consistency. It does not mean we provide laboratory certification or regulatory approvals unless explicitly arranged through third parties.
Common parameters discussed (example)
- Grade specification and acceptable variance
- Size range and handling expectations
- Moisture considerations (where relevant)
- Ash and calorific expectations (as agreed between parties)
Sampling and reporting (where applicable)
- Sampling method and timing should be agreed by the buyer and supplier
- Third-party testing can be arranged by the buyer or supplier where needed
- Documentation should match agreed commercial terms to avoid disputes
Safety basics for coal handling
The checklist below is practical. Implementation must be done by the facility operator, transporter, and site teams.
Dust control
- Minimize spillage during loading/unloading
- Use water spray or dust suppression where required
- Keep material movement controlled, avoid unnecessary agitation
Fire safety
- Avoid ignition sources near storage areas
- Monitor stockpiles for heat build-up
- Keep extinguishers and sand buckets accessible
Loading and unloading safety
- Clear entry/exit path for trucks
- Use spotters where visibility is limited
- Follow site speed limits and unloading instructions
PPE and site rules
- Basic PPE: helmet, safety shoes, and mask where required
- Follow facility site safety rules
- Do not allow unauthorized personnel in active zones
Vehicle and transit safety
- Secure loads properly to prevent spillage
- Ensure proper tarpaulin coverage when required
- Driver safety discipline and rest planning
Incident escalation
- Report safety incidents immediately to the facility operator
- Stop work if unsafe conditions exist
- Document issues with time and location for resolution
Responsibility boundaries
We coordinate communication and documentation. We do not control site conditions or third-party execution. Safety compliance and regulatory compliance remain the responsibility of the buyer, transporter, and facility operator.
- Buyer: compliance requirements, site safety enforcement, acceptance checks
- Supplier: supply alignment, documentation accuracy, agreed specifications
- Transporter: vehicle safety, transit compliance, driver discipline
- Facility operator: on-site safety, unloading procedure, safe material storage
Need quality or safety coordination support?
If your operation has specific safety or documentation requirements, tell us upfront. The more complete your inputs, the smoother the dispatch cycle becomes.
- Grade and usage type (boiler, kiln, process heat)
- Destination and site constraints
- Any documentation format requirements
- Preferred dispatch window
